Extreme Weather and Being out in your YARD

Dear Families,
The weather has been up and down, and in Minnesota, you never know what to expect!
We are getting into a new season where anything can happen! The weather for the Twins Game was, chilling! BRRR!
We are going to explore the different types of weather and how to be prepared for each one.
The 2nd week will look at different activities you can do in your yard.
Here is a Peek into the next 2 weeks.
WEEK ONE
Monday- The teachers will perform a skit about Extreme Weather.
Tuesday- We will make a Weather Wheel.
Wednesday- We will make kites and try to fly them outdoors.
Thursday- We will create a Tornado in a bottle.
Friday- We will have fun blowing like the wind! We will have wind races!

WEEK TWO
Monday- We will plant a pocket garden.
Tuesday-We will plant a yard in a cup.( grass seed)
Wednesday- We will make a backyard diorama in a shoe box.
Thursday- We will pack a picnic basket.
Friday- We will have a picnic with our friends in the courtyard.

Show and Tell- For the first week, please have your child bring in something that pertains to weather. (umbrellas, books about weather, boots, or some article of clothes for extreme weather.)For the 2nd week, please have your child bring in something that has to do with being outdoors in the yard.(play garden tools, a picture of he/she playing in the yard or on a picnic.
