Under the Rainbow

Dear Families,
Here we go as we enter a new month! This is the time when we have high hopes to saying goodbye to Old Man Winter, and Hello to a Spring thaw!
As we keep moving on, it is amazing to see the good progress in all the students. They have been working hard on their auditory and articulation skills. I work on challenging the students to expand their utterances, and we have some wonderful times of conversations in the classroom. Each student always brings something they wish to share with their friends. Please continue to encourage your child to share their Weekend News and Show and Tell. These are important times for your child to practice their language skills. Thank you so much for all you do to help your child be successful at home and at school!

For the next two weeks we will be learning all about colors.
Here is a Peek at the next two weeks:
March 2nd- 5th

Monday- We will read the charming book, " The Rainbow Fish". This will be a good book for discussing sharing and how to be friends.
Tuesday - We will have fun creating our own special Rainbow Fish.
Wednesday- We will enjoy making a rainbow fruit salad and tasting it at snack time.
Thursday- We will create some beautiful stain glass pictures to hang in the window.
Friday -March 6th - No School

Tuesday- Field trip to the Dodge Nature Center

Wednesday- We will have fun making a colorful rainbow ( we will work on the concept of various sizes from smallest to the largest),
Thursday- Yummy! We will make some delicious Shamrock shakes.
Friday- We will have fun acting out a skit for St. Patrick's Day. Think Green!

Our vocab for the next two weeks include these words: splash, mix, discover, smear, gold coins, sneaky, beard, dip, pinwheel, prism, (all the basic colors as well as some new colors..silver, gold, beige, rose, turquoise) plaid, stripes, kaleidoscope, easel, pallet, tricks, rainbow, leprechaun, pot of gold, shamrock, Ireland.
For Show and Tell
Please have your child bring in something that pertains to the topic. The item can be something that reflects the vocab words, or something related to St.Patrick's Day. Any form of artwork that has to do with multiple colors would be great! Perhaps you can create a special picture at home with your child that they can share with the class or bring in a book about colors. Thanks for all you do for your child!
