Week 2 The Mall

Hello Families!
We are in full swing of learning about the Mall and how to shop! The kids enjoyed the skit that the teachers performed last week about Mall shopping. We have re-enacted shopping in the small pull-out groups and had fun making wallets and purses to keep our money in!
This week we will continue to learn about shopping and reinforce our vocabulary. If the opportunities arise, when you are out shopping with your child, point out escalators and elevators, counters, cashiers, customers, cash registers. Any time the child can experience the real world in relation to learning vocabulary in class, will aid in the retention of the newly acquired word, and promotes the growth of language.
Thanks for all you do to help your child grow and learn!
Also a Big Thanks to all the parents that help out with the Dad's breakfast to make it so successful! We appreciate all that you do!

Here is a Peek of Week 2
Monday: We will play a fun mix and match shoe game. We will learn about comparisons, small vs. large, and work on sequencing smallest to largest.

Tuesday: We will have fun doing some candy making as we prepare for our Candy Shop.

Wednesday: We will learn about shopping and spending money as we go to the N.V. Candy Store!

Thursday: We will have fun shopping for a furry friend at the N. V. Pet Store.

Friday: We will enjoy shopping at the Mall within our school, each classroom with be a different store!

Vocabulary will be the same as last week. The students are doing a great job learning these words!

Your child can bring in a favorite stuffed animal for the Pet Store, play wallets, purses, cash registers, or anything that pertains to shopping. Shopping bags are great as this will help when we pretend to go to the Mall.
