Hello Families!
I hope you all survived the freezing weather we experienced and are now warmed up to enter a new week of learning!
Here is a Peek of this week!
Tuesday- We will go on a Field trip to the Dodge Nature Center. We will learn about stars, planets, and constellations!
Wednesday- We will have fun making rocket ships!
Thursday- We will have some fun watching a Magic Show by John the Magician!
We will be making some fruit salad to prepare for the Dad's breakfast.
Friday - Dad's Breakfast @ 8:30 We will look forward to sharing a yummy breakfast with all the special man in your child's life.
We will also have fun making parachutes after the breakfast in class.
For Show and Tell - Please bring in something that pertains to the theme of transportation. We will be talking about vehicles that can go on the land, in the water, or in the air.
The vocabulary for this week will include these words: land, sky, water, tractor, snowmobile, subway, semi-trailer, locomotive, school bus,city bus,parachute, helicopter, hot air balloon, sailboat, submarine, automobile, canoe, cruise ship, boat, four wheeler, airplane, rocket ship.

Fantasy and Magic
Hello!
We will continue with our theme from last week of Fantasy and Magic. All children love to pretend and listen to fairy tale stories. These stories are fun to act out and read over again. Our students are learning to use their listening and speaking skills to re-tell the story and recognize the sequence of the story.
Here is what we will do this week:
Monday- We will focus on the story of Cinderella and use props to act out the story.
Tuesday- We will make crowns so we can all be Princes and Princesses
Wednesday- We will learn and practice some simple magic tricks
Thursday- We will have a special visit from a Magician! The Magic show will be in the morning!
Friday- We will have fun watching the movie Cinderella.
Some of the vocabulary words for this week include: scrub, laundry, midnight, apron, glass slipper, stepsisters, Cinderella, coach, prince, wizard, magician, wand, mice, illusion, gowns, hocus-pocus, wizard, magic trick, magician's hat

Children can bring in Cinderella stories, crowns, wands, costumes, or anything make believe.

Fantasy and Magic
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I hope that you enjoyed the winter break and come back to school refreshed and ready to learn new things in 2009! I am excited to see all the children and to get off to a new start of learning and growing!
Here is an update of what we will be working on for the next 2 weeks.
Fantasy and Magic
We will be taking a look at some favorite Fairy Tales~ Snow White and Cinderella
We will also be having fun with Magic for our 2nd week.

Tuesday- We will read the story Snow White and act out the parts.
Wednesday- We will make magic mirrors and have fun finding out "Who the Fairest of them all? "
Thursday- We will talk about things that are good to eat and things that would be harmful to eat or put in your mouth.
Friday- We will talk about our feelings and make silly hats! We will also be reading the book, " Where the Wild Things Are "
The vocabulary words will include some of the following:
illusion, hocus pocus, wizard, fairy godmother, gowns, Cinderella, mice, castle, glass slipper, clock, dance, prince, king, queen, princess,surprised, sad, angry, afraid, happy, tired, hungry, magician's hat, wand, magician,shy, excited, shy.
Show and Tell
