Welcome back Families!
I hope you all enjoyed a very Happy Thanksgiving with lots of good food, family and laughter!
Now that we are back in the swing of school, we move into another season which lends itself to making more good memories! Bundle up, get ready and let it snow!
***I want you to be aware, that I will be taking a short vacation to CA to celebrate my Mom's 80th birthday. I will be gone from 12/3 to 12/7. Your children will be in good hands with the other teachers.
Here is a Peek of the next 2 Weeks
Week 1
11/30 Monday- We will make a snow man using construction paper and cut outs.
12/1 Tuesday- BRRR! We will make some igloos using ice cubes and salt.
12/2 Wednesday- Get ready to do some skating! We will make some ice skates
with paper plates.
12/3 Thursday- Yum! We will be warming up our tummys making some delicious hot cocoa!
12/4 Friday- The N.V. teachers will be performing a skit about different winter activities.
Week 2
12/7 Monday- We will be making some colorful mittens with construction paper and yarn.
12/8 Tuesday- We will create a chilly snowman with balls of ice.
12/9 Wednesday- We don't want to forget our feathered friends! We will make a bird feeder with bagels and birdseed.
12/10- Thursday- We will make a yummy snowman snack!
12/11 - Friday- We will make a beautiful snowflake mobile.
Here is some of the vocabulary words: skiing. sledding, igloo, ice skates, snowflake,snowball, sled, snowboard, hot cocoa, marshmallows, melt, icicles, shovel, skis, snowshoes.
Show and Tell- Please bring in an item that relates to the theme. Use the vocab words to give you an idea.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Dear Families,
As we approach Thanksgiving, it is good to stop and reflect on all the blessings we have. As I have been able to spend time with each one of my students, I am grateful for the privilege of being part of their lives and seeing their beautiful faces each day. Thank you for trusting me with this awesome responsibility for teaching and caring for your children.
We will have a short week this week.
Here is a Peek of the Week
Monday- We will being preparing food for the Thanksgiving Feast and also talking about what we do at Thanksgiving, and the meaning of this special day.
Tuesday- This is the Big Feast Day! Come and Join us for Fun and Fellowship with your family! We will see you at 11:00 in the Fellowship Hall! Bring your appetite!
We will review the vocabulary from last week.

Healthy Living/Garden Theme
Hello Families!
I hope this finds everyone feeling much better and ready to start a healthier week!
We will look at how to keep our bodies in tip top shape by making good choices in eating and in exercising.
Here is a Peek of our Week:
Monday- Our talented NV teachers will put on another skit! We will be showing the students an Exercise Skit and how to keep our bodies on the move!
Tuesday- We will sort out healthy foods vs. junk food and explaining the reasons why it important to make good choices in what we eat.
Wednesday- We will make butter from scratch and show how cream changes into butter.
Thursday- We will have fun making some colorful Thanksgiving Turkeys out of paper bags.
Friday- We will make some delicious vegetable soup. Could you please have your child bring in one vegetable to add to our soup. Thanks so much for sharing!
Show and Tell Days:
Monday- Sanjay and Deyon
Tuesday - Linnea and Ella
Wednesday- Samantha and Sadie
**Please have your child bring in something that pertains to the theme. We will also be talking about how to plant. Anything from your garage that is one of our vocab words works well in having continuity with our lessons. Thanks so much!

Friends and Family
Dear Families,
I am sorry that I did not have a post for last week as I had been sick. However, you can always check outside my door on the wall for a hard copy of the week's plans.
We will continue this week with our Theme of Family and Friends.
Last week, we enjoyed learning about houses and finished the week with a wonderful walk through the neighborhood which helped to reinforce the vocabulary that the students had learned that week.
We will continue to talk about homes this week, but will focus more on the families inside the home and also friends.
Here is a Peek of the Week for November 9th- 13th:
Monday- The talented N. V. staff will be performing a skit based on "How to Be a Good Friend". We will be reviewing the rules for our students.
Tuesday- We will be making cookies to be sent home.
Wednesday- We will make a Big Family tree. Thanks for bringing in those family photos!
Thursday- We will put together a trail mix which we will share with the other classes.
Friday- We will have fun making paper bag puppets of the students and then having a puppet show!
For Show and Tell
Please bring in any fun family vacation photos! If you have not sent in family photos, we could always use more! The children love to talk about their families! Do you have photos with grandparents???
Also, does your child have a favorite board game?? We will be playing games to learn how to take turns and share with our friends.
I will assign Show and Tell Days in order to give everyone a special day of their own.
