Creepy Crawlies
Dear Families,
It's a new month and we are quickly approaching the end of the school year. All the kids are getting ready to enjoy the warmer weather and have fun outdoors. Now that the warmer weather is here, so are those insects!! This is the perfect timing for us to go explore and learn more about bugs that fly, and crawl.
We will talk about which bugs are harmless and which ones can bite or sting.
Here is a Peek of the Week:
Monday- We will make some cool bug binoculars so we can pretend to get a closer look at insects.
Tuesday- We will create some cute little Lady Bugs
Wednesday- We will have fun making an Edible bug.
Thursday- We will make an Itsy Bitsy Spider.
Friday- We will make some colorful and beautiful butterflies.
For Show and Tell - Please have your child bring in something that pertains to the theme. It can be bug/insect books, a bug catcher, plastic insects, or a real insect in a baby food jar with a tight lid on it( we don't want the bug to escape!)
Tuesday- Mae and Matteo
Wednesday- Nick and Mitchell
Thursday - Lucy and Zachary
The vocabulary will include these words: dragonfly, ladybug, fly, ant, preying mantis, firefly, stinger, cocoon, ant hill, antennae, monarch butterfly, bug box, bug catcher nets, bee, honeycomb, caterpillar, grasshopper, cricket, insects.
