Fantasy and Magic

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I hope that you enjoyed the winter break and come back to school refreshed and ready to learn new things in 2009! I am excited to see all the children and to get off to a new start of learning and growing!
Here is an update of what we will be working on for the next 2 weeks.

Fantasy and Magic

We will be taking a look at some favorite Fairy Tales~ Snow White and Cinderella
We will also be having fun with Magic for our 2nd week.
Here is a Peek of the Week for Jan.6th-9th
Tuesday- We will read the story Snow White and act out the parts.

Wednesday- We will make magic mirrors and have fun finding out "Who the Fairest of them all? "

Thursday- We will talk about things that are good to eat and things that would be harmful to eat or put in your mouth.

Friday- We will talk about our feelings and make silly hats! We will also be reading the book, " Where the Wild Things Are "
The vocabulary words will include some of the following:
illusion, hocus pocus, wizard, fairy godmother, gowns, Cinderella, mice, castle, glass slipper, clock, dance, prince, king, queen, princess,surprised, sad, angry, afraid, happy, tired, hungry, magician's hat, wand, magician,shy, excited, shy.

Show and Tell
Please bring in a favorite Fairy Tale book or an item that pertains to the theme. We are talking about princes and princesses, castles, crowns etc.

Tuesday- Mae and Zachary
Wednesday - Lucy and Liam
Thursday- Mitchell and Matteo

Monday is always Weekend News.
Friday is always books or a game.
